Hadrian's Wall Fact Finder
In May 2009 Newcastle launched its £26m flagship visitor attraction, the Great North Museum. Housed within the new museum is the UK’s main information centre on Hadrian’s Wall. The central exhibit is a 22m scale model of the wall incorporating touch screen information stations. The brief was to create the interactive software and content to support this centrepiece.
The information stations enable visitors to learn about 24 key sites along the wall. Working with the project team, the interactive was developed to display a wide range of information including an interactive map, descriptions of key people and events and up to date visitor information on each site.
Regular focus group assessments ensured the interactives were accessible for all and liaison with the gallery designers, Casson Mann, ensured the pieces matched the gallery’s graphic style set by the designers, Nick Bell Design.
"Your interactives are very stable, very pleasing."
